What is the relationship between excellence/fun?
"People are motivated by different things," explains Dr. David B. Coppel, a clinical and sport psychologist at the University of Washington. "There are some individuals who are process oriented, and some who are outcome-oriented. Individuals who are absorbed in the experience of being active or competing can have a great experience even if they don't win. But for those who derive their success and pleasure from successful outcomes, winning is more important."

How can "winning" be defined. I'd like to argue the point that though we have a Websters definition of winning....what it "means" to me is completely different than what it may mean to anybody else. Hmmmm... why am I botherd by the use of the word winning?
Balashmmmm...
If I'm not pleased with the outcome I'm not interested in the process. everything we do is motivated by the results no matter what the results are, or how minimal they are. Even the artist who doesn't plan the out come, intuitive work is motivated by the feeling that is a result of the process of their working method. The feeling of freedom that comes from the intuitive approach is the result of that approach.
BalasIts hard to say that someone can only be attached a process, the process of thinking leads to an end result of a changed idea . . .some sort of conclussion
maybe it's just that i have a hard time turning my brain off and saying it's ok to waste my time concerned with something and know that nothing will ever come of my efforts, i don't know.
